Preparing for baby

Lately I've been getting out an old Cabbage Patch Doll to *attempt* to get Elliott ready for a baby in the house. Today, he walked over to it, said "Baaa-bee" and brought it to me. I picked it up and on a whim, pretended to nurse it. Elliott never noticed. When I finished, Elliott wanted to hold the doll. In keeping with it being a "real baby", I should have declined, but it was early and I was tired so I let him have it.

He promptly laid it on ground, straddled it and stabbed his thumbs into its eyes.

The training continues!

  1. Ha Ha...too funny!!! Oh, Tracy, I remember buying Jake a doll when we were expecting Cara. He would throw it around and catch it. One day when Cara was about 2 weeks old Jake (2 at the time) got her out of her bouncy seat and drug her down the hall by her feet b/c she was crying. He was trying to find me in the kitchen. She was fine and all was well, but I nearly peed my pants! I have to say, he did MUCH better after that and he was awesome with Abby, but I learned to keep baby with me :).
Don't worry...he will be a great big brother.
